The Concept
Pretty World is a year-long training and mentorship program that targets young aspiring female models from challenged backgrounds. This program prepares our trainees for the job market with practical modeling skills and competences to compete at the top level. It also equips our trainees with project management & leadership skills to prepare them to run sustainable ventures.

Problem
UNEMPLOYMENT
Kenya recorded 39.1 percent unemployment rate, highest in Easte in Africa (United Nations). 1 in every 3 young people in Kenya is unemployed. (GOK)
SEXUAL HARASMENT
One-in-Three Kenyan females has experienced an episode of sexual violence before attaining age 18 (Kenya VAC 2010). 17 out of 20 young aspiring models and former models we spoke to during our research for this concept admitted to have been sexually harassed and some also got to abuse.
POOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILS
Many beauty queens have very brilliant social impact ideas that they present during competitions, but lack the requisite skills to turn those ideas into sustainable ventures.
BEAUTY WITHOUT BRAINS
Social norms consider Models are as illiterate objects of beauty without brains and are therefore viewed to lack the ability to evaluate and understand issues, and engage to participate in society. .In other spaces, modeling has been equated to prostitution and these two has led many models to have low self esteem and self-worth.
Key Goals

Training Mentorship
The purpose of this program is to recruit, train and mentor young female models to conceive solutions that will not only elevate them in their modeling careers, but also raise community leaders out of them.
Raise Community Leaders
Another goal for this program is to raise grass-root female leaders who are in touch with the issues on the ground to support the affirmative action. Each of the models is meant to run a social venture in their respective communities across various sectors.
Income Generation
This course prepares our trainees for the job market with skills and competences to compete at the top level. It also equips our trainees with business management and digital skills to enable then manage their resources well.
Build Partnerships
This program seeks to bring together stakeholders from various sectors with the objective to interact and possibly build partnerships for growth.
